Our family has used Dr. Safier for many years and not only is he knowledgeable, but if a specialist is needed, he always recommends the best. Never rushes a visit answers all questions.

Dr. put me on medication I didn't need as a "precaution" so the disease wouldn't develop. Ended up with side effects from drug for cholesterol. Went to new dr. Levels are perfect, no need for meds. Dr. needs to retire

Unlike other physicians I have seen he listened-and was totally thorough in his approach. I feel very confortable in his care. Although I may wait at times, he never rushes me and and takes his time to address all my concerns.

The time you wait in the office is rediculous. An appointment means nothing. You can wait almost an hour even though you have an appointment

I am very displeased with this doctor. He said I was over weight and I should go on his special diet program. In addition, he wanted me to visit him every 2 weeks to see how Im doing. Actuality, he wanted more money from the insurance company to get a fatter pocket.

I was placed on the diet program by Dr. Safier-I have been very sucessful because I am monitored every two weeks to help keep me motivated and checked medically. I have never been pressured by Dr. Safier either to start the program or continue-but he made me aware of the medical consequences of being overweight.

To finish my statement that was cut off... His reply to every side effect I was having was "Don't worry about it." I finally left him, weened myself off the med, but it was too late and my life has been unrepairable damage that is now worsening with age (47yr.old) as of this posting. Oh, this started back when I was 29 - and his mistreatment of me is still in effect everyday since the first day of treatment. I still say I hope he rots in Hell for all the suffering I've done!!

This doctor ruined my life. He prescribed Tofranil to me after I asked him not to. Yes, I did take the mneds since he is the supposed pro, right? I then started experienceing one by one every bad side effect this drug could cause and every time I mentioned this to him, his answer was

Completely unbelieveable based on every other review posted. This must have been posted by the doctor himself or one of his staff to improve his overall rating.

Long waits (on average 30 mins to see the doctor), unresponsive staff, doctor spends only 10 mins tops with patients. Stopped going to him.

Although I have had to wait for my appt in his office a couple of times but i also understand that people have waited for me as well. The one thing I like about him is that if you are sick they get you into the office right away. My previous doctor either made you wait a day or two or told you to go to the ER. I have seen him and his staff give up lunch so that a patient could be seen. You can't ask for more than that.

Although you can get an appointment, it seems like you shouldn't. What I mean is that I waited AT LEAST 30-60minutes before scheduled visits. Isn't that the whole point of an appointment? Also, I felt he was quick to prescribe pills before listening to everything I had to say. In one case, I would say he misdiagnosed me as having vertigo (prescribed pills). I went to a specialist and found it was a closed Eustachian tube - no meds necessary.

I feel that Dr. Safier is up-to-date on most of the info I need from him. There are times we've disagreed as to whether a medication was or was not at fault in a reaction but his is generally my savior. I've had other people compliment him outside his office, as well. There was a time about a year ago where a mother and her small child also ended up at the pharmacy next to his office. This woman told me that she is very impressed by him. He was 1st to diagnose her son.

Dr. Safier has been kind and helpful to me and was always available when I needed him. Any phone calls were promptly returned and all prescriptions were called in ASAP when they needed renewal. I highly recommend him and his staff.

I've just met the Doctor recently, and he seemed very proffessional at first, but when he accused me of something that I know didn't happen [a small seizure] he perscribes me pills that I know I don't need and made me give up sports. He also gave my an appointment, and it later turned out that there was nothing wrong in the first place, as I had thought.

My average wait time when visiting this doctor is 75 minutes. It seems like they schedule too many appointments too close together, and each appointment ends up taking longer than expected. And even when I show up early, I'm still forced to wait as people who show up after me (presumably for appointments before mine) are admitted before me. It's ridiculous.

Choose a Health Insurance Plan that covers your Doctor

This one sounds so obvious and yet most people miss it. If you are looking to buy health insurance, you fall into one of two situations:

Case 1:  You do not have a family doctor or specialist. Alternatively, even if you have one, you are not particularly attached to seeing that doctor. If this is true, then you can safely ignore the rest of this post.

Case 2:  You do have a family doctor and would very much like to continue seeing that doctor. If you fall into this category, then remember this – not all doctors accept every plan. If you buy a health insurance plan and then find out later that it does not cover your doctor, you could lose hundreds of dollars in out-of-network costs each year.

So, if you do have a family doctor and would like to keep him or her – please do ask your health insurance counselor to choose a plan that covers that doctor!
