Who can open an HSA account?

You are eligible to open an HSA if you are: Covered under a HSA qualified high deductible health plan on the first day of the month, and Are not also covered by any other health plan that is not a high deductible health plan, and Are not entitled to benefits under Medicare (generally, has not reached the age of 65), and Are not claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return.
