HumanaOne's Portrait Share Plus Rx Unlimited plan offers the kind of top-tier benefits you'd expect from a gold-standard plan enjoyed by employees of a major corporation. You'll have easy access to providers and concierge-like services from your health plan that will make you feel pampered.
At the same time, you'll be paying for these services. Portrait is the most expensive of the new personal health plans that Humana introduced in 2007. With its high premiums, Portrait is intended for well-off, older Americans who want to maximize security, minimize risk and are willing to pay more for expanded health-care coverage. The plans don't come with Health Savings Accounts.
Portrait Share Plus Rx Unlimited comes in two deductibles that will affect your premium price: $1,000 or $2,500 for individuals, or $2,000 and $5,000 for families.
BEST FOR: Well-off Americans looking for maximum security from a high-deductible health plan.
CONS: The plans aren't compatible with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), despite a relatively high deductible.
PROS: As part of a trio of new plan lines introduced by Humana in 2007 – including the monogram and Autograph plans – this also gives you the option of adding a supplemental accident benefit for accidental injuries only. This benefit isn't subject to deductible or coinsurance, and places no limit on the number of accidents per year that are covered. The plan offers up to $300 of preventive care benefits per year, not subject to the deductible.
