HSA CD option very good

Just found this site, have used ACB for 2 years for my HSA. Never had a problem accessing the website, to the person that could not access, are you sure you had the right URL?

I went to the website about 15 days ago and it was down. I forgot to check it again, but I did today (Sunday) and it is down (still?) Is it always down at certain times? Or is it down and out completely

VIMO, I JUST OPENED A HSA WITH AMERICAN CHARTERED AND THERE WERE NO FEES. THE $2.00 ONLY APPLIES TO THE INVESTMENT ACCOUNT. Plus the interest rates are different

Great customer service and easy to use investment option

I tried opening a checking account here yesterday which was a huge mistake. After I sat down, I was approached immediately which was the only good part of the experience. After sitting down with the banker the first thing he asks me was, “don’t you owe us money?” Completely confused I looked at him and explained I was new to this bank and wanted to open a new checking account with them. He then verbally asked for my social security number (which they are never supposed to do) which I verbally gave to him (which you’re never supposed to do). After about 10 minutes of vigorously typing and printing up page after page of information I never got to see, he informed me that “they were unable to approve right now, but I would be getting a phone call soon for approval”. To me he seemed to be new and he didn’t seem to know what he was doing. He never bothered asking anyone for help either. He then informed me that I would not receive an ATM card and I would not qualify for over draft protection as “I was a high risk to the bank”. I would like an ATM card, but I didn’t care about the over draft (I’m careful with money so I don’t need it). However, This banker made me feel like scum of the earth. If I was the kind of person that bounced every other check and was always between jobs, I would completely understand. I know for a fact my credit is spotless and I have never in my life EVER bounced a check! I certainly did not feel like American Chartered wanted my business. I walked out extremely confused and angry as I have never been treated like that in my life. I drove down the street to Harris Bank and successfully opened a checking account within five minutes. I will NEVER do business with American Chartered ever again!

Great overall HSA. Free basic account and low cost, solid investment options

I have the investment option which also includes a minimum balance fee if you drop below a balance. Not impressed at all with this account.

Includes a Visa debit card and online bill pay. Easy to use.

This is a simple account, the great thing is that there are no fees if you don't have enough to invest into mutual funds yet. The branch manager was rather ignorant about investment options though.

You cannot beat the pricing for this HSA. I have had a great experience with this bank.

Also, you can now get a CD option for some of your money. For $1000 minimum, you can get a 4.5% 6 month CD. When you combine that with no fees or transaction costs at all, you really can't beat that--especially considering you probably don't want to take a bunch of long-term risks in an HSA during the early buildup period, anyway.

Totally free HSA. No setup, no maintenance, no transaction costs. Issued with Visa debit card. Passbook interest rates. Couldn't be easier. A hands down winner.
