Vimo Report on the Uninsured

The Vimo Beat
Convenience Is Key
The two latest Vimo Research Group reports indicate that convenience is becoming more important for American health consumers.
Vimo’s September “Retail Health Care Clinics Overview” provides a comprehensive look at the emergence of in-store “convenient care” clinics. They are usually open on weekends and outside business hours, allowing students and people who work during the week to visit when they would like. There was only one of these clinics in 2000. There will be thousands in operation nationwide by 2008.
Our latest report, “The Uninsured in America”, examines the latest Census data on the growing numbers of Americans living without insurance, and finds that convenience could be a factor in the increasing national uninsured rate.
