Vimo® - Technology for Good

Vimo and the State of Texas DBITS

At Vimo, we go beyond supporting public-sector technology – we help agencies reimagine what’s possible. As a trusted technology partner to the State of Texas through the Department of Information Resources (DIR), we deliver high-impact solutions to state agencies, local governments, and public organizations across Texas.

Through our Deliverables-Based IT Services (DBITS) contract (DIR-CPO-6084), Texas agencies gain quick, compliant access to our expertise without the delays of traditional procurement. We collaborate with agency teams to deliver bold, reliable, human-centered technology solutions – because every behind-the-scenes improvement leads to a better experience for the communities you serve.

For more than two decades, we’ve helped government organizations across the country modernize aging systems, increase capacity, and elevate the delivery of essential public services. We understand the pressure to do more with fewer resources, and our mission is simple: build technology that helps government work better for the people it serves.

How to Get a Quote and Place a Purchase Order

Working with a vendor through the DIR contract is simple – just follow these four steps.

  1. Draft Your Statement of Work (SOW)

Use the SOW Template for DBITS to create your Statement of Work. This will serve as the foundation for your vendor selection process. Your SOW should clearly outline:

  • Project goals and desired outcomes
  • Timeline and deliverables
  • Pricing expectations
  • Scope of work and requirements
  • Reporting or oversight needs
  • Compliance items (including HUB)
  1. Submit for DIR Review

Submit your SOW to DIR for review and approval before sending it to vendors. For guidance on this step, see the Statement of Work (SOW) Process.

  1. Evaluate and Select a Vendor

Once the SOW is approved, release it to vendors, then review the responses.

  • Consider factors such as expertise, cost, and alignment with your project needs.
  • Select the vendor that is the best fit.
  • Collaborate with the vendor to finalize the SOW and confirm expectations.
  • Tip: Set a reasonable timeline for vendor responses to keep your project on schedule.
  1. Issue a Purchase Order (PO)

Once the SOW is finalized, issue a purchase order. The vendor can begin work as soon as the PO is in place.
